Happy Weekend

I've been having some issues sending out emails - not sure what's going on, I'm so sorry if anyone has emailed me and thought I'd ignored you because you haven't received an email back - "No not at all", I have been answering all my emails, so please try again and hopefully the problem will be fixed soon.

I was thinking while I was painting today of all the different ways our creativeness comes out - quite overwhelming isn't it?. For me I've found instead of trying to change my home to a new theme that I love, I was getting a little confused doing that, I now try and capture the theme in a series of paintings.
This is my latest - I am loving the Beach theme, well really I have always loved the beach theme, but the beach theme with soft roses Incorporated on chippy timber panels or framed in distressed timber frames - here's a few I've been working on, I've also designed some gift cards which are available from our website too, just click on any of the photos for details

sold

Thanks for coming over and listening to my prattle!

Swedish Bench and New Listing

I'm still enjoying painting on the Chippy Boards Tony brings home for me - they're all cleaned, sanded and cut to size - whew all I have to do is paint!!!!

This one I finished today - click on the photo if you're interested
Tony cut another chippy panel exactly the same size as this one, I intend to paint another similar painting, which I think would look lovely hung as a pair
~~~~~~~
OK onto a Swedish Find
Tony came across this wonderful Swedish Bench - really an 18th century Gustavian Sofa, anyone how has visited Tony's space at the Antique Centre will understand why the Swedish Bench needs to be hung up high out of harms way!!! - yeh Girls I know the ones who have visited are having a giggle...???
We've had a wonderful time researching this one, but if you think you have any more info it would be most welcome, please leave a comment or contact us
Here's one gorgeous blog we found along the researching way.http://www.swedishantiques.blogspot.com/ thankyou Tricia (hope you don't mind the mention)
....now you really have to use your imagination on Tony's latest - recoverd I think it would look sensational
Thanks for coming over
have a great weekend
The Love of Tea Cups
Thanks for coming over to see what I've been up to
I've just finished a new painting on a chippy blue vintage timber panel, I've done a few of these, they are wonderful and a pleasure to work on
This one is simply of Vintage Cups and Saucers. As the timber is old and chippy it's not smooth and even, which makes it a little difficult to paint in fine detail - I rather liked the fact my cups and saucers have character because of the texture of the old timber
I've just listed them on our website, if you're interested you can click on the teacups for details
Explaining the photos below....
I loved the cushion in my below photo
Had to have it but had no idea where to put it, it ended up in our for now "Beachy" themed Loft Bedroom, mind you this Beachy themed Loft bedroom could change directions at anytime!
The painting on the bedside table is one of my originals I painted to fit in with my bedroom theme, it's since sold , but just thought I'd give you the general idea of how things evolved from me buying the cushion
In real life our attic bedroom is very crisp and white, very hard taking photos at this time of the year here in Melbourne, let alone the fact my poor old camera is not quite up to it - looks a bit dowdy in my photos
Thanks so much for coming over
Beach!
Thanks for the feedback on my latest Seaside Rosy Painting theme from my previous post.
Tony came home last night with some wonderful old chippy white boards he'd found, he'd cut them up and sanded them back for me ready to paint. I couldn't resist starting on them today - I knew the photo of the seagull I'd taken at the beach during the summer would come in handy - and here it is on the chippy board - I quite like the simplicity - click on the seagull for details of iton our website.
I've also listed a shabby timber boat
below
is the photo I based my painting on, I wanted to retain the great chippy white background
Continuing in with the Sea/Ocean theme
below
is a photo of Todd (son) with his massive 36 kg Yellow skin Tuna he caught
We're very much looking forward to tasting part of the catch in the next few days!!!
Thanks for coming over to see what we've been up to
New Series
Here's a preview of a "Maybe" series I've been working on today. It sometimes helps me if I can see my newly finished original paintings in photo form. I think that would be the case with many of you out there creating all sorts of things as you do??
Just thought the Roses and Seaside theme may be nice to incorporate together
Confusion plus here - not sure at all - hopefully it will come to me - yes let's hope so!
hope the weekend's been a good one for you
I want this
I love this Side Table in the photo above Tony finished yesterday - I think he found the legs at the tip - not sure where the drawer and top came from - could have been anywhere knowing him, all I know is he fossicks around everywhere for inexpensive recycled timber etc. so he's able to make his furniture at a very saleable price, this one was up for sale for under $300.00.
Although the recyled timber top is a lovely natural colour and so smooth, we thought it may be better painted, then distressed to match in with the bottom half - yes please I would like it.
Anyway while loading the photo I found another of our market from last weekend, the big three drawer rustic bench at the front sold, thankfully, it was a heavy one to lift in and out of the van, the top was made from the same blue chippy board I used for my original paintings recently, including Roses by the Sea.
Last - a random photo of Guss that caught my eye as I was loading on the other pics
This photo was taken a few weeks ago, it was a coolish day, not as cool as we're having now though, Ellie and I try and walk/jog along the beach as often as we can. Guss isn't wanting to get his little toes wet, not keen at all!! He loves running along the beach - sand side only
Thanks for coming over ~ Have a great weekend
